Notes
A vehicle-less map means this is a much more classic Tribes 1 style of map. With strong hills and pretty good visbility skiing and sniping become valued assets. To prevent a Heavy Offence over-run of the base then a strong mid-field presence is needed both to slow down attackers and provide flag recovery.
Defence
The exposed terrain is both a blessing and a curse. Defence units are very exposed to fire but on the flip side most enemy assaults are easily visible well before they threaten the flag. Laser fire is the biggest unexpected threat so base defenders should always me on the move to make sniping difficult.
One defender should be a heavy or assault armour wearer and should setup a four turret farm underneath the flag tower to provide a kill zone should the flag runner drop down from the ramp. Place a remote inv station out on the hillside slightly away from the base - this eases the pressure on the base inv stations for light D and light O players. Finally slap a couple of motion sensors underneath the ramp to defeat cloakers trying to sneak into the main inventory stations. Your role is to keep the lower deployables up and the inventory stations up - including flushing any lurking enemies out.
One flag defender at all times. I leave exactly how you defend the flag at your discretion be that by satchel charge, laser fire or Heavy on Flag tactics. Just vary them around a bit to keep the enemy O on it's toes. Your job is to defend the flag - nothing else matters. If you do use the satchel charge, try to use it so that deployables aren't taken out with it as much as possible.
Medium turret monkey/repairer. Bring a remote inv up to flag ramp level. Change the base turret barrel to either ELF or AA fire. Deploy four spider turrets on the ramp region for flag D - more if you can squeeze them in. Repair the base turret and sensor as required, both are very useful. If you have spare time putting two landspikes out at both ends of the ramp area is worthwhile as are the occasional pulse sensor. Finally two motion sensors at either end of the ramp looking towards the flag is useful. If you get the chance help with the flag D but the deployables should be taking care of that for you pretty much. Your primary role is keeping the net of deployables up so patrol with a repair pack when not deploying to keep them in tip top shape.
Two light D with sniper rifles/energy packs. Rove the hills out to the front of the base and look for incoming enemies. Your role is to intercept incoming flag runners and damage them as they come in - killing them is secondary simply hurt them so that they don't survive the flag defences. Only duel if the enemy engages you and then make the duel as short as possible and in your favour. Keep an ear out for the base defenders - if someone is missiling the base turret from long range then one defender should go stop them while the other stays on patrol. Priority role is flag recovery, drop anything else and go for the enemy flag runner when our flag is grabbed.
Offence
Midfield one Offence member should run a remote inv station out to the middle of the map out of sight of the main ski routes. Plonk two landspikes near it for defence and use that as a forward resupply point. Freshly spawn light offence members should make a beeline for it to kit up. Once deployed that assault armour should use missiles to knock down the base turret or sensor and grenade spam when nothing else presents itself.
Two light offence as harrasment attacks. Snipe, irritate and annoy base defenders. Try and draw defenders away from the base. Disc/snipe deployables to keep base defences light.
The remaining offence members should organise into two flag runners with energy packs and your favourite weapons. Two Heavies as base attackers and to clear the path for the flag runners. Shell the flag area while the flag runners begin to head in and then make a go for the inventory room. Camp in there as much as possible to slow their offence down - destroy their inventory stations.
